Ayurveda is the ideal medical science for addressing many intractable chronic diseases. Nina Molin, MD, medical director at AnandaHealth in the Berkshires, is available for Ayurvedic consultations. 413-822-0852. Please see the letter below.

A Letter from Jay Glaser, MD

Welcome to AyurvedaMed.com, the website of the Lancaster Ayurveda Medical Group! Lancaster has been offering programs in Vedic medicine since 1986. Having seen out-patients for consultations in Ayurveda for over twenty years, and having supervised the in-residence panchakarma purification programs for five thousand clients, I have decided to apply myself to another longtime area of interest and in which I spent most of my medical training: internal medicine for hospitalized patients with acute disorders. I will also continue pursuing my lifetime mission of making Ayurvedic medicine known throughout the world through research, publishing and seminars, which will be the only activities of Lancaster Medical Group. We are no longer seeing patients in consultation.

"The purpose of Ayurveda is to restore and maintain balance. Balance is the natural state of life, because the basic characteristic of the fundamental element of life, pure consciousness, is complete balance." - Maharishi Mahesh Yogi

We would like AyurvedaMed.com to be a resource for all things healthy. Because it is natural, time-tested, free from side-effects and documented by research, only Ayurveda deserves its place as every family's means to gain extreme longevity without disease. Ayurveda also deserves to be the first approach to come to mind if your health has slipped and you need to restore your possibility of leading this long, healthy life.

At the Lancaster Ayurveda Medical Group, we understand both worlds: Vedic medicine and standard medicine. Both are presented in our publications and seminars. Too often, we see health care approached the other way around: alternative medicine is what we do when standard medicine either doesn't work or offers treatments that are harmful. Ayurveda can become such a pleasant part of everyone's daily life, keeping people healthy year round, that standard medicine should only be needed for those that slip between the cracks.

Let me give you an idea about what you will find at AyurvedaMed.com:

  • Information for people just getting started with Ayurvedic medicine, either with a specific disorder or as a means to live a longer, healthier life
  • Resources for people who have already been living an Ayurvedic lifestyle, and who now need more information about specific disorders and techniques to implement healthy routines more easily in their busy day
  • Thoughtful discussions by true Ayurvedic experts on Vedic medical techniques, treatment methods, and on human biology as seen through with a Vedic vision
  • FAQ's for your friends and family who could use Ayurveda in their lives, but aren't yet convinced
  • Recipes for delicious dishes and for effective, simple remedies
  • Techniques for the whole family to replace medicines for colds, digestive problems like gas and bloating, and other common problems
  • A place to deepen your understanding about Ayurvedic medicine through books and other resources
  • Schedules for courses and seminars lasting a day to a week through the Lancaster Ayurveda Medical Centers.

Nina Molin, MD has an impressive background in both standard internal medicine and Ayurveda. As a resident in internal medicine, she used an elective to come study with me at the Lancaster Ayurveda Medical Center. I could see how our patients appreciated her ability to give sound advice with a foot in both worlds. In addition to her consultations at AnandaHealth, which she founded, she is on the medical staff at Canyon in the Berkshires.

For a consultation with Dr. Molin, call 413-822-0852 or visit her web site http://www.ananda-health.com/

In her consultations, Dr. Molin maintains the same philosophy about our health programs: Ayurveda as taught through the ages. Lancaster keeps the Veda in Ayurveda, offering a consciousness-based approach to health. Although I began studying Ayurvedic medicine in India in 1972, I never truly appreciated the Vedic essence of this science until our teacher, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, presented it to me in its true dignity.

If you are a patient we have previously seen in consultation, please use this site to deepen your knowledge of Ayurveda and keep in touch with developments through our newsletter. Thank you for being my patient and for having contributed to the growth of the knowledge of Vedic medicine in the world.
